FOOD PANTRY                    How to Participate:

  • General Requirements
    • A state/government issued ID, such as: driver's license, state ID, Social Security card, medical card, passport, benefits card, or birth certificate for everyone in the household when applying or updating information.  A current lease agreement listing all household members is also acceptable.
  • New Patrons
    • Fill out a short eligibility form qualifying by either income based on household size or benefits received.
  • Current Patrons
    • Are required to update their information:
      • Once a year
      • When household size changes
      • When income increases

Food Pantry Procedures:

  • Mondays & Wednesdays:
    • The pantry uses a number system on a first-come, first-serve basis on Mondays and Wednesdays.
    • Numbers are distributed in the morning, generally between 7:00 am - 8:00 am, until the pantry closes at 3 p.m.
    • All those with numbers will be served.
    • Please have your ID ready and your cell phone off before you come into the food pantry.
  • Saturdays:
    • The pantry uses a lottery system on Saturdays.
    • Placeholder tickets will be distributed from 7:30 a.m. - 8:15 a.m.
    • At 8:15 am all patrons with a placeholder will be given a random line position determined by a computer.
    • After 8:15 line numbers are distributed normally.
    • Please have your ID ready and your cell phone off before you come into the food pantry.

 

  • Pantry Number Distribution
    Monday                  7:30 am to 3:00 pm
    Wednesday            7:30 am to 3:00 pm
    Saturday                7:30 am to 8:15 am (lottery), 8:15 am - 11:00 am (normal)

What Participants Receive:

Participants choose the food they receive from available selections based on household size.

Participants may come to the pantry once per week.  Our week resets on Monday.

If you are unable to come to the pantry due to illness, work, or other emergency, another person may select food for you as long as they bring your ID with them.

Other Options:

For those who are physically disabled, we provide these options:

  1.  You may call during non-pantry hours (860-889-7374, ask for pantry) and we will make a bag for you to pick up. We will bring the bag to your car.
  2.  Another person may go through the pantry line for you. They will need to bring your ID.
  3.  You may contact the pantry manager.
