News about Tax-Free Charitable Giving-- Did you Know?

Individuals aged  70 ½ and older can transfer up to $100,000 per year from individual retirement accounts (IRAs) to charity - without incurring federal income taxes today or estate and income taxes in the future.

The transfer should be made directly from your IRA to be considered a tax-free transfer. Ask your IRA custodian about making a direct transfer, or you can have the IRA administrator send a check to us from your IRA account. If you have check-writing privileges for your IRA, you can write a check to the charity. Please contact Jill Corbin, Executive Director, at jcsvdpp@gmail.com, or 860-889-7374 if you have any questions.
