As Our Executive Director Jill has set a clear vision for St.Vincent de Paul Place. She puts people first patron, staff, donor, everyone is to be treated with equal dignity. She signs her letters with the word Peace. And it is peace she works to bring us each day.
Bonnie is the Administrative Assistant to the Executive Director. She is responsible for many areas including the dining room, the front desk, volunteers, community service workers. She is often the first to welcome new patrons, visitors and donors as they come through our door. We are pleased to have her smile and gentle manner represent us.
Julie as our counselor works directly with our patrons. She offers a helping hand to many of our patrons experiencing personal difficulty. She helps monitor the homeless, making sure they have a safe place. She is an advocate for each person she works with. Her warmth as well as her collection of angels make patrons feel safe and gives them hope. Hope that one of her angels might help them through their day.
Dan is the Pantry manager the largest of our programs. But that is just the beginning of his role. He also serves as our technology director, all around repairman, and security monitor. He arranges the pick-ups of food from Gemma Moran Food Center, the day old bread from local grocery stores, and more. During the summer he is often picking up truck loads of produce from local farmers. He is known for his kind and generous interactions with everyone.
Ben comes to us after a varied career. He cooks 4 days a week. His special lasagna is very popular. He has taken on the challenge of learning how to cook for a crowd with enthusiasm and energy. His spirit of giving and optimism is an asset to our program.
Peter, one of our part time cooks, is also a Deacon in the Catholic Church. He is our spiritual leader. He takes his work to another level by feeding the hungry in both body and soul. His quiet competent manor provides all of us a refuge from the noise and chaos often surrounding the work we do. He works Monday and Tuesday and also assists when we need a prayer leader. His sermons are from his heart and have moved us all to be closer to our faith.
Everyone should know Marie. She is our energizer bunny. Her responsibilities are centered in the kitchen and the dining room. We do not know what we would do without her. She is responsible for over seeing the community service volunteers as they wash dishes and clean tables. Her gentle manner covers her strength and energy. We are grateful for her help!
